67 A Miracle Happened in Summer 2016

In summer 2016, a micle happened to us.

Daddy and Max have returned from the restaurant in downtown.

Max looks as great as Daddy in similar dark-blue blazer.

"Max acted like a gentleman at a fancy restaurant and had chiken."

Daddy told us, a little excited.

Max's Dinner at home                                      Going to Downtown with Daddy

fillet cutlet, French fries, celeries, carrots &

Max, who did not eat anything but McDonald's French fries and bagles and fruits,  suddenly started to eat potato fries cooked at home in July this year.

Mommy had been going to McDonald's to buy French fries day after day in the last 10 years said "I never ever want to go to McDonald's in my life!"

She does not have to go to McDonald's any more!  Hurray!

2 days later, Mommy put a piece of roast chicken quietly on Max's plate.  He ate it in one mouthful.

"No kidding!  Max just ate chiken!!"
We were all surprised but acted like nothing special was happening, sending signs each other by eyes.

Mommy put on his plate more pieces of chicken, 3 and 4, he ate all of them.

We don't even remember how many pieces he ate.

After he finished a lot, he asked for "more chicken".

2 days later, we tried filet cutlet this time.  He ate a lot.

For bread, he had had only bagles, but he started to eat regular bread and French bread.

He was eating raw carrots and cerelies since this year, so his eating habits have suddently become very well-balanced.

An incredible happy sudden change!

A miracle has happened!

I guess Max can eat vegetables with strong flavor such as cerelies because he has been drinking Chinese medicine with strong flavor and he is accustomed to flavor,

but he can now eat chicken, pork filet, and breads . . .

A miracle has truly happened!

Last night we all sat around a table together and had filet cutlet hot from the kitchen.
Eating the same dinner together at the same table !!!
Sounds like a dream!
At the ordinary home, it is a casual scene, nothing special, but for our family, it is a miracle.
Daddy and mommy looked so happy, and we all ate a lot.

Daddy once said filet cutlets that Mommy's grandma in Japan cooked was the most delicious food he ever had in his life, but I am sure the filet cutlets last night should have tasted even better.

The Mommy's grandma passed away in November last year at 99.

I know she is overjoyed and clapping her hands at heaven saying

"that's great! that's great!"

Max had not had any hot foods except French fries and never had foods that you need to use knife and fork.  But now, next to me, he is eating meat with a fork!!   "Wow !!"

For our family, until recently, it was impossible, and Mommy's dream has come true,

her dream that "eat same dinner together at a table".

It's marvelous !
This is the happiest moment.

Mason still cannot eat vegetables at all but he loves meat.

Beef stake is his favorite.

He loves pasta, pizza, and ramen.
We are hoping that Mason also suddently starts to eat vegetables.

Mason challenged 3 new things this summer.

The first, the Japanese language.
For hiragawa and katakana, not only reading, he quickly learns writing.
And he writes very well.

He is interested in Chinese characters also.

I taught him simple letters to start with.

But he surprised me by writing 「大、中、小、品、方、文」also.
It seems he saw those letters at Daiso.

Even so, it is great that he remembers and writes!

「Japanese? or Chinese ? Vietnamese?」
He asks me "Is that Japanese or Chinese? Vietnamese?"

looking at signboard in town.
He has a keen interest in language.

The second challenge is a golf.

f:id:sutekilife-2:20200508194302j:plain

We only tried at the backyard at home but he is getting to play well.
In Seattle, there are some golf courses nearby and it is not expensive.

Grandma, living in Japan is so envious . . .

His 3rd challenge is a piano.

He is taking a lesson but he isnot so much into piano.  I do not know if he can continue but I hope he would enjoy to play piano.

Our dream is someday Max and Mason play a duet on a piano!

That will be great!
But the boys health and happiness are the most important for us.

As Max is now able to eat meat and bread, we went to the restaurant in downtown and had spent a wonderful and happy time together this summer.

I think Max's facial expression became joyful and calm after he started to eat meat.

It made both Daddy and Mommy feel peaceful, Mommy's face looks calmer and smiles are coming back.   That is the best and happiest news for me . . .

We went to the lake nearby for kayak riding.

It's the lake at the meeting point for the camp.

As Max is spending peaceful days and I think Mommy finally feels like playing at lake.
