2017年 お引越し
生まれ育った一戸建てのお家からコンドミニアムに引越しをすることになった。
We have decided to move to condominium from the house Max and Mason were born and raised.
マックスは９月から高校生になるしメイソンは中学生だ。
Max will be a high school student in September and Mason will be a junior high student.
マミーは小学校も中学校も決める時は慎重だ。
Mommy is always very careful to choose school.
Primary school and junior high school were decided after full consideration.
もちろん直接学校に行き先生ともお話をして学校を決めてきた。
Of course, she went to the school, met with teachers and discussed and has decided which school to go.
その結果、小学校では自閉症の生徒はマックスとメイソンだけだった。
At the primary shcool, Max and Mason were the only autistic children.
高校はいろいろと調べた結果、家から通える高校はいろいろと納得が
いかないことが多くとてもマックスを通わせる気持ちになれなかった。
For junior high, after thorough research, the one Max can enter was far from satisfactory level. There were so many things we did not like about that school.
となりの学区は良い公立高校があり障碍者にも手厚い制度があることを知り
引越しを決意した。
In the neighboring school district, we knew there was an excellent public junior high school. They have many good plans to support handicapped students.
So we have decided to move.
引越しといっても家から車で１５分位の場所にあるアパートで
いつも買い物やピアノのレッスンのすぐ近くなのでより便利なところになる。
New place is an apartment about 15-minute drive from the current house. It is in the area we go for a shopping, piano lessons, etc. so it is more convenient.
家を売るためにマミーは毎日家をクリーニング。
Mommy has been cleaning a house everyday to sell it well.
ペンキ塗りはメイソンが得意でマミーは大助かりだった。
Mason is good at painting work and it was very helpful for Mommy.
特にダディはほとんど出張で不在のなかでの引越しだったから尚更だ。
Daddy often had to go on business trip and the preparation for moving was harder for her without him and so Mason was a big help.
マミーはとてもきれい好きで日頃からいつもお家はきれいだったので
売り家の看板を出した途端にすぐに売れてしまった。
Mommy always keeps house very tidy and clean and the house was sold as soon as they put up a for sale signboard.
ダウンタウンには車で30分位でいけるし公園はたくさんあり
特に子供を育てるにはすばらしい環境だ。
It is only 30 minutes by car to downtown, and there are many parks. Wonderful surroundings to raise children.
幸い気に入ったコンドミニアムもみつかった。
Luckily, we found a good condominium.
コンドミニアムは部屋が少なく狭くなったがプール、ジム、
パソコンルーム、プレイルームなど設備が整っているので
家で運動も出来るしセラピーも会議室でできるのでとても便利だ。
New apartment is smaller but it has good facilities such as swimming pool, gym, PC room, play room. We can exercise, receive therapies at the meeting room.
特にプールと会議室ががあるのは有難い。
A swimming pool and a meeting room are especially useful for us.
今まではマックス、メイソンには日々ほとんど社会生活を学ぶ場がなかった。
Max and Mason had not had much opportunities to learn social life.
アメリカでは学校から帰ってくると家の中や家の庭で遊ぶのかほとんど
外で遊んでいる子供を見かけない。
I seldom see children playing outside after school in America. They may play in the house or backyard.
時々、マミーと「よその子供たちはどこにいるんだろうね？」・・と。
"Where are the children in our neighborhood ?", sometimes Mommy and I were wondering.
外出はガレージから車で出るのでほとんど近所の人との接触はないまま成長した。
When we go out, we leave home from a garage by car and our boys grew up with almost no contact with neighbors.
これからは共同住宅なので他の居住者との交流もでてくる。
エントランスであったりエレベーターであったりあジムだったり・・・
At a new apartment, we will have more opportunities to talk with other residents,
at the entrance, the elevator, the gym . . .
アメリカでは犬の散歩でも歩いていても他人とすれ違う時は
「Hi！」と挨拶するか笑顔を交わす。
People exchange greetings in America, "hi !" or exchange smiles when you pass by someone, walking a dog, or just taking a walk.
マックスも高校生メイソンも中学生になり社会生活を学ぶには丁度良い
環境だ。
Max is now a high school student, and Mason is a junior high school student, and the new surroundings can give them a good opportunity to learn a social life.
またいろいろなことが起こると思うが日常生活でひとつひとつ学び慣れて
日々楽しい生活を送ってほしいと心から願う。
Many things should happen on their way but I do wish that the boys learn one by one in daily life and get used to it and lead a happy life.
現在マックス１５歳メイソンは13歳。
Max is 15 and Mason is 13 now.
マックス2歳半メイソン1歳半で自閉症と診断されて以来マミーとダディは
全力で自閉症と闘い二人を守ってきた。
そして溢れるほどの愛を二人に注いできた。
Max was diagnosed autistic at age 2 & a half and Mason 1 and a half. Since then, their mommy and daddy have been fighting and protecting them and have devoted all their energy. And loved them totally.
「こんな幸せな子供たちはいないのではないかしら・・」
と私は時々思ってしまう。
I sometimes feel "there are no other children as happy as our boys . . ."
これからも二人が幸せに生きられるように皆んなで全力でサポートするから
マックス、メイソン、少しでも自立に近づけるように頑張ってね！
Max, Mason, we will do anything for you for your happiness, so please you try to do your best to get closer to standing on your own as much as possible!

引っ越してから間もなく私は転んでひざのお皿を割るという大けがをしてしまって
マミーダディとマックスメイソンにすっかりお世話になってしまいました。
お陰様で9月末やっと歩行できるようになり日本に帰国しました。
After we moved to the new place, I tumbled down and have broken the kneecap. It was a serious injury. Mommy & Daddy, Max and Mason took care of me very well.
I have got to be able to walk at the end of September and returned to Japan.

マックス15歳メイソン13歳までの成長期を記してきましたが
「MaxとMasonの成長記」はこれで終わりにしてこの後の記録は
「Max＆Masonの青春記」につなげたいと思います。
