プリスクール入学前はスピーチセラピーを
１日１時間 週に2～３回 国から無償でサービスを受けられる。
Before the preschool, you can receive one free speech therapy per day, 2-3 times a week.
プリスクールでは、通常のクラスの他に
週に１回スピーチセラピーとオキュペーションセラピーがある。
At preschool, on top of regular classes, you can receive a speech therapy and an occupation therapy, one class each per week.
そして年に２回 IEPミーティング（Individual Education Plan）がある。
IEP (Individual Education Plan) Meeting is held twice a year.
個人教育計画と呼ばれる会議を親、学校、療育関係者、
そして心理学者などが参加して開き、子供のハンデイキャップを
補修するための療育プログラムを決定していく。、
In this meeting, participated by parents, school side personnel, educators, and psychologists, the educational program will be decided to make up for chidren's handicaps.
プログラムに満足いかない親は、専門家の意見書をとり
再度 IEPにはかり満足いくまで要求出来る。
If the parent is not happy with the program, he/she can ask IEP for an alternative plan, submitting the specialist opinions, until a safisfying plan is suggested.
アメリカは各州によって障害者に対する国の援助が全く異なる。
In U.S., the national aid to handicapped persons is totally different by state.
ワシントン州は自閉症の場合、学校以外はほとんど自費でセラピーを
受けねばならず親にはかなりの負担となっており、
子供の治療のために家を処分したという話も珍しくない。
In the State of Washington, in the case of autistic children, any therapies outside of the school, have almost no public aids and this is such a burden for most of the parents.
It is not a rare case that parents sell house to pay for the treatment for their children.
完治出来なくとも少しでも改善できるものなら改善させ
将来の自立の道になんとか繋げたいという親の気持ちの表れであろう。
This shows parents strong wishes to improve the condition even just a little bit, and hopefully it leads to the independant life in future.
しかしワシントン州にも例外はある。

That is the case of Microsoft and Amazon, both have their head office in Seattle.
社員は自閉症のためのあらゆるセラピー、医療は会社の保険でほとんど
補償してくれるという。
The employees for the both companies are covered by the company's insurance almost all, for all kinds of therapies and medical treatments for autism.

またミリタリーで働いている家族は自閉症の子供一人につき
毎月３０００ドルまで援助が出るそうだ。

There are many things we cannot understand for the insurance policy for autism in Washington State.
例えば会社の同僚の子供さんが 言葉が遅いという事でスピーチセラピーを年間２０時間まで保険が適用されている。
For example, the child of our friend are receiving speech therapy because he is late to start to speak. It is covered by the insurance up to 20 hours a year.
同じ会社の同じ保険でも、うちの子供のスピーチセラピーには適用されない。
However, it is not applied to our chiledren, even though the fathers work in the same company and it is the same insruance.
生まれながらに持っている障害だから適用出来ないという事らしい。
（そりゃ ないよ～！！）

民間の保険は、自閉症の問題だけではなく普通の人が病気になり
当然、保険が適用されると考えていていても いざ保険の申請をすると
色々理由をつけて保険の支払いを拒否するケースが後を絶たない。
