52 Going to Panama for Cell Regeneration Therapy - 2009

2009年　一家でパナマへ細胞再生治療に行く

マックスもメイソンも二人ともとても優しく良い子だが、
特にメイソンには時々ビックリさせられる。

Both Max and Mason are very gentle and good boys.
We are sometimes surprised especially by Mason. 

そのひとつはまだアメリカでは認可されていない細胞再生治療を受けに
マックス６歳半メイソン４歳半の時にパナマに行った。

One example is:

We went to Panama to receive cell regeneration therapy.  It has not been approved in the U.S.  Max was 6 and a half, Mason was 4 and a half.

マックスはそれまで飛行場にはいることもできない状態だったが
何回か飛行場に連れて行き予行練習をしてどうにか飛行機に乗せ
パナマまでいくことができた。親の必死の思いを子供達も感じたのかもしれない。
Back then, Max could not enter the airport site.  We took him to the airport several times for practice for this trip, and we could manage to fly to Panama.  The boys might have sensed how desparate their parents were. 
メイソンはまだ４歳半だったが、とにかく気配り目配りが尋常じゃない。
とても４歳というか子供とは思えない一家の長のような気配りで皆ビックリだった。
Mason was only 4 and a half but he was unusually attentive about what was happening around him.
エアポートでの移動、エレベーターに乗る時降りる時、タクシーの乗り降りなど
全員が移動する時は、必ず目で全員の存在を素早く確認する。
While walking at airport, getting on and off the elevator, taking a taxi and getting out of a taxi, whenever we travel one place to another, he did not miss to confirm all of us were together.
誰かかがちょっとでも外れると慌てて「No,No」と駆け寄って腕を掴まれる。
If one of us were a bit out of the area comfortable for him, he ran to the person saying "No,no", holding him/her by the arm.
飛行場でトイレに行きたくなってもメイソンに怒られるので
メイソンに見つからないようにいくのが大変だった。
When I needed to go to toilet at airport, I had to try hard so that Mason would not see me.  He would have scolded me if he found me walking away.
トランクもサァと自分の側に寄せておく。
He quickly moved our luggage by his side.
ノンビリのダディより全然気配りがすごかった（ゴメンなさい,,,,,ダディ)
He was much more attentive than a bit carefree Daddy.  (Oops, sorry . . .  Daddy.)

やはりパナマでの出来事。

Another event in Panama:

広いビルの中を走る遊園地のような電車にダディとマックス
が乗りメイソンとマミーと私は待っていた。

Daddy and Max were in the train running in indoor amusement park.  Mason, Mommy and I were waiting for them to arrive.

電車が止まりかけたその時突然にマックスが電車から飛び降りて走り出してしまった。
あっという間の出来事だった。
When the train was stopping, Max jumped off the train and ran.

It happened all at once.
ダディは慌てて追いかけていったが、

電車の中にダディのバックパックは置きっぱなし……..
Daddy ran after him in a flurry, leaving his backpack behind . . .
その時メイソンは動こうとしている電車に飛び乗りバックパックを抱えて降りてきた。
Mason jumped in the train just pulling out of a platform, picked up the backpack and got off.
マミーはダディに「バックパックはすぐに行動出来るように背負った方が良いわよ」と
言っているのにカッコ悪いと思っているのか背負わない。（ ほらねっ！？）
Mommy was saying to Daddy "You'd better carry it on your back so you can move quickly." , but Daddy did not listen to her.  He thinks it does not look nice?       (Well, she told you!?) 
マミーも私もバックパックのことはとっさには頭に浮かばなかったのに……….
「すごいね！ありがとう！メイソン」

It did not come to our mind instantly that he left his backpack in the train . . .

"You are awesome!  Thanks, Mason!"
