54 "Max, What's Wrong?" - 2013

2013年　「マックス、どうしたの」

マックスが１０歳になるとたまに首などの身体に青く痣を作って
かえってくるようになった。

When Max turned to 10, he sometimes came home with bruises on his neck and body.

学校に問い合わせるとパニックを起こしたので・・・ということだった。

それまではパニックを起こすには大体 理由があった。
起こしそうなことは極力避けて来たのでそんなにひどいことはなかったのだが…
We asked the school and they said he got into a panic.

Up until then, he usually had a reason for a panic.

We tried to avoid his reason for panic as much as we could, so it did not get so bad.
しかしこの頃から頻繁に学校から

「パニックを起こしているから迎えに来てください「」と連絡がはいる。

迎えにいくともうすでに治まっていることが多いが家に連れて帰る。
However, around this time, a call from school got more frequent.

By the time we arrived at school, he usually got calm and we took him home anyhow. 
学校には「１５分位で落ち着きますので放って置いて大丈夫です」と伝えるが
「すぐに迎えに来てください」とローリー先生は言う。

We asked to the school "he will be fine in 15 minutes or so, you could please leave him alone."  But Ms. Laurie always said "please come to pick him up right away."

ローリー先生からの電話の回数もだんだん増えてくる。
マミーはいつ迎えの電話が入ってくるかわからないので、ゆっくりスーパーで
買物も出来ず携帯電話が鳴ると恐怖で気分が悪くなってしまい
ノイローゼのようになってしまった。

Telephone calls from Ms. Laurie got more and more frequent.

Mommy could not go to supermarket for shopping freely, worrying about a call from school she might receive at any moment.

Every time she heard mobile phone bell ringing, she got sick out of fear, and 

she was getting almost nervous breakdown.

こんなに楽しそうに学校に行っていたのに・・・・
しかし幸いなことに１２歳になり中学生になってからは一度も学校から

呼び出しを受ける事はなくなった。
As you see in the picture, he had been going to school so happily . . .

However, fortunately, after he became 12 and started to go to the senior high,

we have not received a call even once.

先生は「全然 マックスは問題ないですよ」と言って下さる。
先生によってこんなにも対応が違うのかと感心してしまう。
The teacher says to us "Max has no problem."

We are impressed with the difference by schools.
中学に入ってもパニックを起こしたりしているかもしれないが学校で
すべて対応して下さり親にとってこんなに有難いことはない。

しかしながら学校からの呼び出しはなくなったが、
今度は家でガンガンとはじまってしまった。

We suppose he might get a panic in junior high and the school took a proper care for it.  

We are so grateful for it.

However, though we did not receive a call from school,

he started a head banging at home.
